Modern Slavery Statement
Last updated 11-06-2026
Introduction
This statement sets out the steps Muse takes to understand any potential modern slavery risks related to its work, and to make sure there is no slavery or human trafficking in the project or its supply chain. We have a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically, with integrity and transparency, in everything we do, and to keeping sensible controls in place so that no form of modern slavery can take hold in our work or in the suppliers we rely on.
Organisation structure
Muse is an AI fashion and beauty companion app for the UK, available on web and mobile, built and operated by Cipherer Ltd, a UK company. Muse is in early access, invite-only, and being actively built by a small team of four people. We write software. We do not manufacture, ship, or sell physical goods, and we have no factories, warehouses, spas, or stores.
Our supply chains
Because Muse is a software product, our supply chain is short and consists of cloud and software suppliers rather than manufacturing or transport networks:
- Amazon Web Services, which hosts Muse in its London region and provides our content delivery, email sending, and the managed AI service that generates styling guidance.
- Google Fonts, which serves the font files used by Muse.
- Standard development tooling used to build and maintain the app.
All of these are supplied by large, established companies that publish their own modern slavery statements covering their operations and supply chains.
Our policies on slavery and human trafficking
We are committed to ensuring there is no slavery or human trafficking in our supply chain or in any part of our work. In a team of four, our safeguards are simple and direct rather than formal policy documents:
- Right to work: we check that everyone working on Muse has the right to work in the UK, which safeguards against human trafficking or anyone being forced to work against their will.
- Raising concerns: everyone involved in Muse can raise a concern about how anyone is treated, or about anything in our supply chain, directly and without fear of reprisal.
- Ethical conduct: we hold ourselves to honest, transparent behaviour in all our dealings, and we expect the same from anyone we work with.
Due diligence
Before relying on a supplier, we choose established, reputable providers and review their published modern slavery statements. We repeat that check whenever we add a new supplier. Because our supply chain contains no raw materials, manufacturing, or logistics, the categories where modern slavery risk is highest do not arise in our work, but we keep this review habit in place as Muse grows.
Training
With a team of four, we do not run formal training programmes, and we will not pretend otherwise. Instead, everyone working on Muse has read this statement, understands the commitment behind it, and knows how to raise a concern. We will keep awareness of modern slavery risks proportionate to the size of the team as it grows.
Compliance
The directors of Cipherer Ltd are responsible for this statement and for making sure we live up to it. We publish it voluntarily: Muse is well below the 36 million pound annual turnover threshold at which section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires a statement, and we make it in the spirit of section 54(1) because we believe transparency should not depend on company size. We will review and update it as Muse grows. If you have any questions about this statement, contact us at hello@musefashion.me.
